朋友们为即将走入婚姻殿堂的保罗（杰森·李 Jason Lee 饰）举办了一个派对，希望他能够在派对上享受最后的单身时光，可老实本分的保罗却并不想利用这个派对来进行最后的猎艳。可惜天不遂人愿，第二天，当保罗迷迷糊糊的从睡梦中醒来时，他发现自己的身边竟然躺了一个陌生的美女，而自己和这位美女之间究竟发生了什么，保罗一无所知。
更糟糕的事情还在后面，保罗震惊的发现，这位和自己关系暧昧不清的美女不是别人，正是自己未婚妻的表妹贝琪（朱丽娅·斯蒂尔斯 Julia Stiles 饰）！这一发现吓坏了保罗，对于自己的行为，他无论如何也找不到合适的借口。面对未婚妻的询问，第一个谎言诞生了，而为了圆谎，保罗不得不接二连三的抛出更多的谎言。事情的发展眼看着要失去控制，保罗的婚礼能够顺利的举行吗？
